Wet

26 May

It’s one of those wet, cold winter nights here in Sydney tonight that just makes you want to curl up with a hot chocolate and a good book. And possibly a hot water bottle. And so, after my hot shower in the next 10 minutes, that is exactly what I am going to do.

In news today, I had two exams: maths, which as you all should know by now is probably my worst subject, with me just scraping in a pass at the end of last year, and history, which I love and think is terribly interesting. Maths, as usual, I feel I could have done a million times better, but I don’t think I went too terribly. At least the equations were easy enough.

History was surprisingly… odd. I did the first two pages pretty easily, then skipped a bit and blitzed the dates at the end if the paper, but then when I went back to do the long-response bit that I skipped, I was a bit lost for words.

Not knowing what to say doesn’t happen to me often. I’ve usually got an opinion or some really long sentence full of hypens – my thing – and brackets (another one if my things) to write down. But I think within the first paragraph if this mini-essay I repeated myself about 3 times. I felt seriously thrown off. Fortunately, I pulled myself together, wrote a pretty OK response that filled up all the space I’d been given to write in, which is an achievement at my school, and finished with 1 minute to spare.

I’m pretty sure all my exams so far have gone pretty well. Well, 4 down, 1 to go.

Wish me luck in science tomorrow!

P.S. I got an iPod touch! Anybody with the ABC app – I would definitely recommend checking out the news in 90 seconds video. Informative and snappy.

8 May

Hey there. Welcome back.

Today is a big day. Yes indeedy. Today is a big day because today I am confused.

Hooray! I hear you say. I can tell you’re literally hopping with excitement over this new development.

No, really, today I am going to ask a series of questions. I woke up feeling a little not-informed. About a few things. This is hard to explain, but I’m not really sure what I’m confused about. I think I might have had a dream that I don’t remember, and then I woke up and the questioning feeling stayed with me but not the actual question that was in the dream. Or something.

So, in light of me not knowing what the question is but still requiring an answer, I’m going to make up some questions and you should answer some of them as best you can in the comments. If an answer satisfies me then I’m pretty positive my confusion will dissapate. Please? For my sanity. You love me, don’t you? For sure you do.

So, here we go:

  1. How many roads must a man walk down?
  2. Where is he going?
  3. Why isn’t he a woman?
  4. What happened to my watch?
  5. Why don’t I have enough t-shirts but still too many?
  6. Who are Mother Nature’s children?
  7. Do they have a father?
  8. Does Mother Nature get a Mother’s Day present?
  9. Why is KFC adverstising a Mother’s Day gift meal?
  10. Who are my friends?
  11. What is intimate about a kiss?
  12. How do you measure personality?
  13. Why can”t I fly?
  14. Can you own a rainbow?
  15. Where is the Bermuda Triangle?
  16. When can I see Avatar?
  17. Does love really trump hate?
  18. Will Mario ever die (that creepy old man is immortal)?
  19. How deeply can you pick your nose?
  20. What do I want to be when I grow up?

I think 20 questions are enough for you guys to deal with. Please answer a few! I need answers.

Live long and prosper (unless you’re Mario – geez, stop hitting on Princess Peach, she’s too young for you) -
